…..So after the peaceful day at Bhangarh we headed to Jaipur for a night stay. We quickly sped to Polo Victory area where most of the hotels and lodges are located. After sufficient negotiation with Receptionist at various places we finally settled down at  Pink City Guest House which gave us an A/C room for 4  with Attached facilities at INR 800. We were determined not to spend a penny more than what is minimum required to spend in accommodation and things like that. They also gave our driver a small room at the cost of INR 100. He slept like a kumbhkaran after a long sleepless and continuous drive from Lucknow.

There needs to be a mention of what we had an amazing fun laughing, literally ROFLing  and watching Dinesh Karthik‘s 3 sixes in a row and then a sudden and awkward stumped out dismissal.I was desperately trying to prove the talent of this young batsman- wicket keeper and even got it almost approved when he had hit 3 sixes. But that was not my day when he got out in the most silly way one can. I don’t want to say anything more .. you can witness the fool yourself !

Beware … you are going to watch something which can lead to uncontrollable laugh riots which may lead you to death . I hereby, take no responsibility of any kind of mis-happening in any case.

We almost died the last night laughing, rolling and falling from the bed . Never would i attempt to bet so high on Dinesh, the awesome again. that’s for sure !

Anyways, talking about our trip we could not avoid paying a visit to Amer Quila also , because of the extra time we had. Although it was never in our plan to visit such place but we thought to reconsider it because we knew nobody among us will gonna come this far again. To our amazement, specially mine who had always seen Amber in the day light, the fort looked splendid in the night with a beautiful and pleasant light show spreading upon its huge walls.

Day 2 : So the next day we headed  for the place I have always been dreaming about for the last 4 years. The Sambhar Lake.  I always get mesmerized thinking about the vast plains the site offers us to walk, run, drive as fast as you can, listen to your favourite song, just lie down and think or  do whatever you want. The place is a huge piece of land with nothing but just salt. An amazing view of Sambhar Salt plains  awaits you when you go 80 kms after taking a right turn under the flyover at Dudu on Jaipur- Ajmer Highway. This place won’t ever disappoint you . Never !!

It was nevertheless , one hell of a day i always thought of spending at place like Sambhar . Next time i plan to go out there on my own vehicle so that i can also do some test drive as they show in every car advertisement on TV.

At last while clicking all the beautiful pics around the lake … our dear pathak ji came up with some splendid snaps of silhoutte on the railways tracks . I love them so much !

OUR  AMAZING JOURNEY

A trip to the land of sands

Soon, a lots of people were going to gather at the campus for Varchasva ’12, the sports and cultural fest of Hell.  A lots of girl, glamour and bullshit was going to get over the crowd in the coming couple of days. Folks were busy practicing for their sports , some were busy setting up meeting for the dignitaries coming up at the fest. A lot were busy handing a hell lot of other activities.  But there was something else going on in Room No. 1409. Niket and me were trying hard to fix a plan for our long trip from lucknow to Tanot mata. Tanot mata is a temple at Rajasthan– Pakistan border which is of high significance to the soldiers  posted at Longewala Post.  We were although excited only to think about a trip itself to  culturally rich Rajasthan and a chance to see the dunes for the first time. None of us ,even me who is from Rajasthan, has ever in their life seen the sand dunes.

We spent a whole lot of time planning to go only to the off beat places of rajasthan . No! certainly we had no interest in the alleys of Jaipur or the Nahargarh or the tourist laden City Palace. We tried to chose all those places which are either  less frequented by the tourists or have something unusual about it.

I hope you will like all the places we covered. Below is how we did it !

Day 1 : Shakti bhaiya sent us an old Tata  Indica, which was more or less giving the same look like a new one. Anyways it doesn’t matter, that was one of the lowest fare vehicle we people could afford for  such a long trip. The driver, although not only looked jolly but had a full flavor of “bhaiya” ness of U.P.  We started off at 2 in the noon. It was a good feeling to think about that we were gonna see a lot on this journey. This could be a journey we have always wanted. While on our way, we got a good news about our Short film winning a prize at XIMB Film Festival which  was an icing on the cake because we were going to get the cash prize in return which could probably be added to the budget of expenses we had decided for the trip.

Our Cab guy had a few problems in Kanpur trying to evade the Traffic police guys who if strolling on highways don’t have work other than asking for the “papers” of Gaadi. We got fix for a 1000 Bucks but we were allowed to move. We Passed Etawah, Firozabad, Agra, at the late night. We even got lost while bypassing Agra. There was no one who we could ask for our way to go to the NH. At a small trijunction, while looking for our way around, we came across a Sign board telling us the way for a place with a hillarious name ” Bitch puri”. We, the quick witted gang also came up with a quick slogan for the place ” Na aadhi na adhuri yahaan milti hai Bitch puri”.

Our First destination of the  plan was Bhangarh. After riding whole night and passing through the U.P. rajasthan border we were almost somewhere near Dausa in Rajasthan when our driver suggested a detour for Mehndipur Balaji Temple. Although we all heard about the place and knew some facts about it but were quite obnoxious about visiting it. But since we were on long vacation and had a lot of free time, we decided to give it a shot. Indeed that place was hell of crazy place. All type of  menand women having superstitious belief in god and its power could be seen there standing in a queue waiting for their chance to be treated by their God Balaji. Not to forget, this was 4 O’ clock in the night. It was certainly not a place for us.

We felt despair in their hopefulness

Starting again , we reached some  few miles before Bhangarh.  So Before we actually moved into this Scariest place of India, we got a little break to stretch out our legs, pee out a lot and do a little photoshoot which usually was a moment of randomness.

They though they were going to get a good pic with the background for their FB cover photo

So finally came the Bhangarh, featured in Discovery channel’s Top 30 Scary places in the world. Although we didn’t find any thing scary about the place but instead felt it as a pleasant site to have a day out.

A Shopkeeper, when asked if there is really any ghost in there, replied ” kya bhoot wagairah aayenge jahaan aadmi hi duniya ka sabse bada bhoot hai” was an amazing quote of the day we started off with our fort visit. To us, the fort was something e never expected. A beautiful meadow, well maintained, neat and clean and a small temple at the entrance. Although it was a ruined fort , but gave an appearance of being a mighty wall in the past.

So , after a long tiring night travelling and the day in the sun at Bhangarh we finally decided to get a night spent in jaipur relaxing and preparing for the next few exciting days to come.

God and indian education system have always been generous to the student who passed their senior secondary in 2006. They have been giving us “surprise” gift each year as we get older. I don’t think anyone would have received so much of gifts like those and that too almost every year.

Starting from 10th class, we, who always relied one previous year question paper, guess papers, in our earlier classes, never knew that  when we would come in our senior secondary, god will use so many heads to throw his gift upon. He changed the f**king syllabus. I don’t know why he did that, may be he wanted us to be different from others. OK leave that.  We somehow managed to get through. and got to realize our talent to face the surprisingly new condition at high time.

our next “AGNI-PARIKSHA” came when we were deciding our future.Government of india decided to give chance for IIT and aieee asspirants to sit only two times in their whole life.We who somehow faced the 10th class tragedy, now seemed to have been restricted our right to go into iit or a good college. Students from bihar, U.P. and M.P. who doesn’t have good academic background due to weak rural education or money needs to go for some preparation at least two years to come up to that level in order to get into IITs.

But Arjun singh wasn’t satisfied with what had been given. He decided to give some more. But sadly it was too much for some talented who were overwhelmed and couldn’t bear to accept the gift of Rservation to OBCs and that too upto 27%. we protested hard ,but they already put on the headphones with a hard metal rock. All went in vain.We wept, we crept, but our feelings were not given respect.

i think god has done so much for us that i don’t think any one would like to ask for some thing more from him.God you are really great.
